Born in 1978 in Okayama, Japan.
Chiho received her degree in Swahili from Osaka University(formerly Osaka University of Foreign Studies) School of Foreign Studies. After working at a company dealing with imported goods in Osaka, she moved her base to Tanzania where she worked at a travel agency and organized tour plans for Japanese visitors. The tour offered the opportunities to stay at farming village and participate in workshops led by local artists. She also worked as a coordinator to assist the production of travel and documentary TV programs.

After returning to Japan, Chiho worked at the public cultural institutions such as Tokyo Wonder Site and Edo-Tokyo Museum to provide coordination and management. With her linguistic talent, she regularly appeared as a hostess on a show presented in Swahili on NHK World(NHK’s international broadcast service) channel, and also worked as a translator.

Chiho first joined the YCAM staff as a ‘play leader’(supervising staff) for the public program “Korogaru Pavilion” in 2013, then she later took up her new post as a coordinator in April, 2014 to work on production management for all the YCAM-hosted exhibitions and performances. She strives to create a favorable working environment that would bring out the great brilliance of the unique YCAM staff and collaborators including artists and engineers.
